    Future Perspective

    • To put a stress on practical training, conduct studies in practical issues,  cooperate with corporations in the society, design practical courses for business people.

    • To cope with the government policy in the fields of information technology and commercial automation, cultivate trading and financial professionals with world views.

    • Rooted in Taiwan, students are trained to have a global vision and abilities to deal with the changing international business world.

    Short-term, Mid-term & Long-term Development Plan (2002-2011)

    Short-term Goal for 2001-2002 academic year

    Goal #1  To cultivate outstanding international trade professionals who are able to conduct strong market surveys and analysis and have  management skills in trading business.

    Strategy 1: To place an equal emphasis on theory and practical studies, high relevancy among different levels. 

    Strategy 2: To enhance training in the domestic and international regulations for economy and trade, get hold of the economic movement.

    Strategy 3: To emphasize studies in liberal arts, strengthen education of general studies, broaden the view of students. 

    Strategy 4: To encourage teachers’ participation in academic activities, strengthen academic interactions with other universities, encourage research and cooperation programs.

    Strategy 5: To encourage students to participate in school clubs and serve as class representatives to form abilities in coordination, organization, leadership and management.

    Strategy 6: To particularly emphasize foreign languages, computer and professional skills, upgrade our international logistic software and our network system laboratory, and enhance auditory and visual teaching aids.

    Strategy 2: To visit working locations for teaching purposes.

    Strategy 3: To improve the equipment and software in the professional labs.

    Strategy 4: Students are assisted in pursuit of professional certificates or licenses.

    Mid-term Goals for 2003-2005 academic years

    Goal#1   To cope with the government policy in the fields of information technology and commercial automation, cultivate trading and financial professionals with international views.

    Strategy 1: To invite experts of WTO to design courses for the education of WTO.

    Strategy 2: WTO teaching staff program

    Strategy 3: Speeches and seminars on WTO issues

    Strategy 4: To give instructions in case studies on WTO.

    Strategy 5: To give training in trade negotiation.

    Strategy 6: To strengthen training in English for economy and trade, improve communication skills.

    Strategy 7: To help the development and promotion of WTO for the government.     

    Goal#2   To improve students’ foreign language abilities for economy and trade.

    Strategy 1: To increase foreign language classes for reading, speaking and writing skills.

    Strategy 2: To train teaching staff for foreign language elite group.

    Strategy 3: To establish foreign language self-access Centers.

    Strategy 4: To improve English abilities and build foreign language certification system.

    Goal#3   To put an equal emphasis on teaching and research, encourage teaching staff to undertake studies on WTO issues.

    Long-term Goals for 2006-2010 academicyear

    Goal#1   To enhance research on WTO issues and international business related fields and meet the needs of the regional industries.

    Strategy 1: To establish WTO Teaching, Research andDevelopment Center.

    Strategy 2: To establish Institute of International Business.

    Strategy 3: To cooperate with world famous colleges and universities and provide opportunities for academic interactions for teachers and students.

    Goal #2   Rooted in Taiwan, students are trained to have a global vision and abilities to deal with the changing international business world.

    Strategy 1: To assign students with good language efficiency to serve as receptionists in international conventions.

    Strategy 2: To build bridges and connections between alumnus and students in school for continuous friendship.
